Impulsive, uninformed public decisions cost millions. NPR had a panic button moment to make a decision but decided not to listen first before acting appropriately, and responded to only the first wave of chatter. NPR could be talking about the cultural challenge in a vibrant community and building and engaging their audience even further. Instead they went the 20th Century route and didn’t listen or engage. They could be leading the more valuable discussion. Social business technology coupled with a 21st Century socially calibrated business could have helped. Maybe we should be firing people for not listening or asking for help in the 21st Century? (via NPR CEO Vivian Schiller Ignored Listener Engagement | C7 Group
